Tell us about the run of swell…

This swell arrived at the end of our first month working in the Maldives. After exploring and learning about the local breaks over the previous four weeks it was amazing to see Kandooma really fire up.

The session:

Luckily I had the morning off work. I woke up early to check the waves. It was really big first thing and I was actually a little scared as there was no one out, plus it was my first time seeing the wave like that. But once you’ve put your boardies on and walked to the waters edge you can’t turn back!

The wave:

It's so hard to pass up good waves whilst waiting for the sets! I just wanted to catch as many good waves as I could that day. When I paddled in it felt a little small, but there were a few people on the inside of me who didn't want it so I just took off to stay busy! It ended up being a really nice long barrel.
