What Our Customers Think

After a spring of swell and favourable winds, and a busy summer season of surf lessons, it’s fair to say that our natural rubber suits have been thoroughly tried and tested. With a full range of wetsuits in the NuWave offering, we wanted the new range to be accessible to all without compromising on comfort, warmth, flexibility or style. After six months of being put through their paces, NuWave wearers have reached a verdict, and judging by feedback from our core stores and supporting surf schools, it appears that the collection has been a success! Pete at King Surf School in Mawgan Porth, Cornwall, said, “The customers are proud to wear them because they have less environmental impact on the planet.”

Most commonly noted is the soft feel and stretch of natural rubber, with many customers agreeing that they are comfier than standard neoprene suits. A second factor, specifically from surf schools, is the longevity of the suits. Surf schools put their suits through the mill - with multiple people pulling on a single suit throughout the day, over the course of the summer. Trampled into tarmac, deep cleaned regularly and baked by the sun or put away wet, the NuWave suits are still holding up as well as our previous ranges. “The longevity was a big unknown for us and we’re really impressed,” said Dale at Big Green Adventures in Crantock, Cornwall.

We spoke to surf shop staff and surf school owners across the UK and Ireland to discover what their customers and clients thought of NuWave. Read on to hear their glowing reviews.

“The feedback has been great on the NuWave. I had a chat with a customer yesterday who said he was surprised by how stretchy and soft the NuWave felt and that he's glad that wetsuits are going in that direction. He also liked the fact that they were an affordable option!”

People are noticing extra flexibility and we get plenty of people coming back and asking for them specifically, plus people find them comfier and stretchier. The big take away from me is that half of what we have now is all NuWave, and they stand up to the test.
