Meet Maui’s Matt Meola
Hawaii’s infamous aerial specialist Matt Meola has been soaring above the surf scene for a while, pushing surfing to its limits and championing progression within the sport. Aside from his day job as a professional surfer, Matt loves playing guitar (he’s in a band with his sister), hiking in the mountains and going bow-hunting and spearfishing to put self-sourced food on the table.

Ollie O'Flaherty: Waves of Consequence on The Emerald Isle
Irish big wave surfer, environmental educator and surf coach Ollie O’Flaherty is based in Lahinch, County Clare. Whilst he’s probably most well known for his commandeering of a 60ft monster at Mullaghmore in Co Sligo, the 35-year-old C-Skins rider has had his fair share of huge waves, hectic hold downs and heavy slabs.
